Ingredients

firm or extra-firm tofu pressed, cut into cubes
3 block
avocado oil
6 tbsp
cornstarch
6 tbsp
ginger grated
3 tbsp
garlic minced
3 clove
coconut sugar
9 tbsp
apple cider vinegar
3 tbsp
ketchup
3 tbsp
tamari
6 tbsp
cornstarch
3 tbsp
water cold
3 tbsp
green onions sliced
to taste
sesame seeds
to taste

Method

  1. 01Toss tofu cubes with avocado oil and 2 tbsp cornstarch.
  2. 02Heat avocado oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add tofu and cook 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. 03While tofu cooks, whisk ginger, garlic, coconut sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, and tamari in a bowl.
  4. 04Whisk 1 tbsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp cold water until smooth, then stir into sauce.
  5. 05Lower heat to medium-low. Pour sauce into pan with tofu and stir until coated.
  6. 06Simmer until sauce thickens and bubbles lightly, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. 07Serve topped with green onions and sesame seeds.
