Ingredients

shrimp raw, peeled, deveined
2 lb
salt
2 tsp
black pepper ground
1 tsp
buttermilk
1 cup
all-purpose flour
2 cup
garlic powder
2 tsp
onion powder
2 tsp
smoked paprika
2 tsp
oil for frying
as needed

Method

  1. 01Add shrimp to a bowl or bag, season with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper, add buttermilk, mix, and let sit 10-15 minutes.15 min
  2. 02In a shallow bowl, combine flour with remaining 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. 03Remove shrimp one at a time from buttermilk, shake off excess, dredge in flour mixture, and place on a plate.
  4. 04Preheat 2 inches of oil in a Dutch oven to 350°F.5 min
  5. 05Drop 6-7 shrimp into hot oil and fry for 2 minutes.
  6. 06Remove shrimp onto a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate and serve hot with lemon wedges and dipping sauces.
