Ingredients

navy beans drained and rinsed
2/3 cans
unsulphured molasses
0.17 cup
brown sugar
0.17 cup
ketchup
1 1/3 tbsp
yellow mustard
1 1/3 tbsp
onion powder
0.17 tsp
baking soda
0.17 tsp
kosher salt to taste
0.17 tsp
liquid smoke
optional

Method

  1. 01Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. 02Drain and rinse beans, then set aside.
  3. 03In a baking dish or Dutch oven, whisk molasses, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, onion powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  4. 04Stir in beans and liquid smoke if using.
  5. 05Bake 20 to 25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until thickened and bubbly.23 min
  6. 06Remove from oven and let sit 1 minute as sauce thickens.
