Naturally Sweetened Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients
- Medjool dates pitted
- 6 dates
- water room temperature
- 0.17 cup
- water hot, for soaking
- hot water
- vanilla extract
- 1/3 tsp
- salt
- pinch
- cream cheese room temperature
- 2 2/3 oz
- unsalted butter room temperature
- 2/3 tbsp
Method
- 01Remove cream cheese and butter from fridge to warm to room temperature.
- 02Place dates in a heatproof bowl and cover with hot water. Soak 10 minutes, then drain.10 min
- 03Once cool enough to handle, remove and discard date pits.
- 04In a food processor, combine pitted dates, room temperature water, vanilla, and salt. Process until smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes, scraping sides as needed.
- 05Add cream cheese and butter. Blend until smooth and fluffy.
- 06Use immediately or store covered in refrigerator up to 5 days. Before using, warm to room temperature for 15 minutes and rewhip briefly.
